понеделник - след неделята, работен ден, значи -;)
вторник - вторият ден след неделята
сряда - абсолютната среда на нещото си, наречено "седмица"
четвъртък - четвъртият поред
петък - петият ден,

събота(та) е абсолютно неясно как се е "сплела" и приплъзнала в нашия календар от еврейския - шабат(ът) - тяхната "неделя", демек
В този смисъл, английските наименования винаги са ме мъчели, ако трябва да се сещам на кой "бог" са, доколкото нашите са до болка прагматични = работиш/неработиш
