The Mote in God"s Eye

The Earth is a veiled speck
Cuddled in the deepest blue eye
Of the Uni-verse.



Rubbing the eyes
Won’t get the wobbly picture 
clearer.
Stroke the eyes:
They’ll shine again
Shedding light
On the murky images…


And they’ll switch on
to living…for good
